Coaches, noting his explosive style and unique ability to read the competitive field, recommended he give track cycling a whirl.  

The track not only was perfectly suited to his skillset and physical prowess, but was an ideal setting for his mental fortitude. Grant demonstrated an uncanny ability to stay calm under pressure and strategize effectively during races, a skill that would prove invaluable as he moved up the ranks.

The Road to the Olympics

While qualifying for the Olympics is no small feat, Grant's journey was almost immediately filled with impressive triumphs. In 2019, his first year of racing on the track, Grant took first place in the team pursuit at the National Track Championships. He repeated that in 2021 and added several more podiums to his palmarès before riding to first place finishes in Team Pursuit, Elimination and Madison at the 2024 Pan American Track Cycling Championships. It was this string of victories that not only solidified his status as one of the top cyclists in the world, but also earned him a coveted spot on the 2024 Olympic Team.

Training and Preparation
